I think that if the phone is a bluetooth, then a bluetooth should come with the phone when it's initially purchased.
Otherwise some form of wireless connection should come with your phone.
It should be banned if you have to hold the cell phone!
Yes! |

Yes, but it just as dangerous as messing with the radio, lighting a cigarette, digging in your purse, digging in the glovebox, putting on make-up, etc. |

yes!!! I have seen to many near misses, on the free way of all places! If its an emergency why cant they simply pull over and off the road to take the call? It's especially frightening in rush hour traffic and cell phones do come with an ear piece so it isn't like they have to even hold the phone! Its become a real problem as far as I'm concerned and your not only taking your own life in your hands but whoever is in the car with you and other Innocent drivers, its really a growing epidemic that needs a stop put to and I believe the only way is to make a law against it. I wish I knew what the statics are for the wrecks or lives lost because they were on their cell! but on second thought maybe I don't want to know! |

Unless it's handsfree, yes. |

In my country (CEE) it's prohibited, drivers get fined if they get caught. Headset is allowed though. |

Yes, if it requires using your hands. But I guess quick calls are alright on a quiet road, but not on the highway. |

it is where i live....and handsfree is stupid becuase you are even more distracted.
I think u shouldnt be making calls just to jibber jab....but if someone calls you ok.......
it's a stupid law...cops talk on there phones still and it is banned here in ct
I AGREE WITH ANDREW.... IF I CAN BE TALKING TO SOMEONE IN THE CAR AND AM CONTANSTANLY LOOKING OVER AT THEM AND CRAP...I AM MORE LIKELY TO GET IN AN ACCIDENT. PLUS, YOU ARE TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD.... |

You people!!
No, no no no no!! This is such a fricking nanny state! If you hurt someone, have an accident, etc. and you are using one then you are already punished. It's called "distracted driving". Make a law that says if you are in an accident while on the phone, then it is your fault. But don't make another law that people are going to ignore! |
|

|
not necessarily. If the driver is on the cell-phone and causes an accident than they should get a ticket with a steep fine (hazardous driving) |

people using hands-free phones have the SAME accident rate as those talking on a regular cell. The issue is being distracted and not paying attention. |
|

fatbaby
 |
yes u should not have any phone on the road |

i think hands free should only be allowed - everytime someone cuts me off or does something stupid, always on the cell phone |

Yes. I think that people should be focusing on driving instead of talking on a cell phone...That's how alot of accidents happen.. But, honestly it's just as dangerous as messing with the radio, lighting a cigarette, digging in your purse, digging in the glovebox, putting on make-up, etc...

Yeah especially texting, but really how can they keep everyone from doing it. It is really easy to conceal talking while driving. |
