we are suppose to live in a country with freedom of speech .
i hope your not saying this word !!!!
my son who is 7 said that word the other day and i almost fell off my seat .we do NOT say it in my home but he had heard another child say it . i said to him it was a bad word ... he said "no mommy it isnt" ..... i asked him if he knew what it meant ....he said "no but its not bad" . i had to explain to him why he couldnt say it .
my feelings on it ... its no different then being called a cracker or whitey !!! |

it's not illegal but it should be...expecially when white ppl say it that irks me sooo badly, it's not so offencive to me when my own ppl (black ppl) say it. if ur white and say that word to a black person be prepared for a nice heart-warming BEATDOWN tho...mmm i saw some black dudes tearing this white guy APART for saying that word... |

i hate the word and i hate hearing people say it, but i dont get why they can call white people "crackers" but cant call black people a "N" in better terms. |

are you refering to *****? if a black says it to a black, its ok... but if you not black don't use it. that's the rule. never been called that though, prob because i live on an island with mostly dark skinned peps. |

It's not illegal per say. You can use it legally, however it's not considered politically correct if you’re not black. The only scenario where could land you in legal trouble is if you were to direct it at someone who is black and they felt you used it in derogatory way; then it is considered verbal harassment/ verbal abuse. |

However, it has been elevated to hate-crime status in many areas.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH mean anything to you? You may say whatever you want however you may get your face stomped in for saying it or if your are in school you cannot cause because of school policy. Get off the internet and read a book. |

OK here's my view. if the word ****** wasn't supposed to be said, then every single black guy should stop saying it in every single song, movie and form of media. Sooo everyone can say ****** but a white person cant. i call all my white friends *******. get over it. if you take offense to the word your a hypocrite. take 50 cent for example. the guy says ****** at least 30 times per song. even if i didn't wanna say the word its part of my vocabulary and comes out whether i want it to or not. slavery was 100 years ago, get the **** over it. black people are pretty much respected more now then white people. easier to get a job in a good profession.

black people are more racist then white people in my opinion i don't hate anyone. but i do hate sneaky ***** who wear baggy as clothes and look all sketchy and talk with a slang even though they came from white suburbia.

No, it's not illegal. The reason some entertainers are fired because of it is because the companies that they work for do not want to look like they support that kind of attitude, so they personally fire the folks who say it. But if you say it on the street it's perfectly legal, gutsy, but legal. |
