we shouldn't have to but I'm worried if i don't they will over estimate the amount i owe. i have an extension and a loft conversion that have been payed for with hard earned money, not hand outs and we could be penalised for our hard work. wish i had always lived on the dole. |

Any of you who know me will know I rant on about New Labour and main stream politics at every chance I get. This attack on the working class is as others have said another Gordon Brown revalation to punish those that have spent much of their time and cash in improving their homes. Yes, its what you would expect of a trotsy communist type goverment and that is precisly what New Labour is. Of course the people it hits are those that have put everything they have to get a leg on the property ladder. How can anyone vote for a goverment that wants to wipe out the working and lower middle classes attempts to own a home of their choice. Don't forget, New Labour have set up a secret police to deal with people who speak out against certain issues and are compelling the police to use similar techniqes to the guestapo and russian secret police. Our freedoms are being eroded at
at an alarming rate and you will soon have to have identity cards. We are becoming a copy cat state of Starlinest Russia, is that the way we really want to go?. There has to be serious political change and BNP and UKIP are the only way forward. As someone has already said you will not be able to refuse entry, if you do there will be yet another fine and you will not be able to smoke either while the inspectors are in house as there will also be a fine for this. Why are we putting up with this? New Labour, conservatives and the Liberal party must be beaten at the ballot box to fight back and that must start at the next elections. Let us fight back by voting for those that will do what the majority of the electorate want give BNP or UKIP a chance.
Expressing your anger on this forum is one thing, getting up and doing somthing about it is another. |

If we dont all hang together and get this stopped like in the poll tax riots then most assuredly we will all hang separately
Refuse to comply and pay the fines, what can they do?
Put the whole nation in prison?
Cant wait for the day Comrade Gordon sends one of his minions round mine with a clipboard ready for a snoop
Time to take the power back |

Hi, No way should anyone be allowed to enter anyones home. Why should we have people snooping around in our homes. Only the police should be able to enter and that's only if anything suspicious has happened. I was watching on the news that bailiffs are being given power to enter homes, how wrong is that! It's about time the government opened it's eyes and ears and listened to the people. They expect us to vote for them. |

Isn't it about time a petition was organised to protest against this invasion of our privacy. Do the inspectors that are currently being recruited have to have a full criminal record check, as for example those planning to work with children have to undergo. If not, why not. They will encounter many children during their inspections and also could be using the time spent in your house to 'case the joint.' |

This joins the other stealth taxes that Robber Brown has thought up. As others have said time to revolt, we are according to them Europeans and the French take to the streets and the government backs down, whether it is the farmers, fishermen of lorry drivers. So let us all say no entry and the same to the useless oiks that will nodoubt turn up later this year if you are selling your home, personally I will be charging for any question they ask me. |

No, never, they would have to get a court order.
Unfortunately the majority of the british people will roll over, moan about it and appologise for taking so long to answer the door. |

No way, why should we. We already hand over to much of our hard earned cash, and struggle month by month to survive, while to Govenment waste squander and generally chuck it away. I mean why should we be punished for having a garden or being close to a nice area? Life is already sh*t in the UK but at least we can come home and make our homes nice, now it seems they want us to suffer more, have no money, and live in a dive, as we cant afford to have anything nice. This place has gone mad, we can chuck away millioms of pounds starting wars in places we have no business being, in the name of freedom while we pile more and more upon our people. I hate this counntry it's tax system, is unfair policys it's discrimaination againts those of us who go out to work... it is all take take take....... I am looking for the best way out and the UK Government can have it's immigrants and do what the hell it likes |

I think its time we as citizens send a very strong message to those imbeciles who have gone power mad!
Vote them out of existence & if that does not work then take to the streets and protest!
I think they only sit in parliment and concoct ways to exhort money from "soft citizens".
They are no better than gansters, in fact they are worst as they use the law to do their biddings! |

Another example of this inept, incompetent, useless Government extracting more money by stealth!!! I'm afraid you will not be able tp refuse entry, as it will determined by an Act which will include heavy fines for refusal !!! God help us !! |

There are Statutory Right of Entry laws to your home such as The Rights of Entry (Gas and Electricity Boards) Act 1954; Electricty Act 1989; and Utilities Act 2000 . If the council tax thought police can't prove they have a statutory right then escort them off of your property. |

They won't be getting into my house. Can you imagine having to pay more tax if you install a new bathroom or kitchen. God forbid if I planned to repaint.
They are forcing us to live in squalor. |

Just remember this ...you pay tax on everything you buy in the UK.and on the money you earn to pay for everything and on the money you choose to save..so of you make home improvements you have already been taxed.
why should you be then taxed again because you have tried to make your home as you wish?
Is this big brother at its worst??-or do they expect us all to start living in little grey box's with government issue furniture?
If you have earned your money then you should have the right to spend it how you choose including improving your home and the government has NO right to punish people in this way.
Yet again they have made it law- to be able to enter your house on this issue ..as for me they will not cross my doorstep .
I would rather break the law than allow someone to tax me further on the already taxed items I have worked hard for!!
So i guess my answer to your question is a big fat yes. |

no way,but it is a £500 fine if you dont, now is the time for a reveloution, follow me Guys |

|
Of course not but we will let them because thats the English way.The French wouldn't buy it,they would be out on the streets. We just bleat about taxation etc but DO nothing but pay up.
If it is suggested here, every street should form a petition to say NO to whoever wants to enter.I cant think of anyone who would agree with it so it must be undemocratic.Do we live in a true democracy or are we heading for something more sinister? |

Karen

Absolutely not!!!!! I feel so strongly about this, I will willingly pay the £1,000 fine if I have to!! This is nothing short of monstrous. Since when was having a patio considered a 'special benefit' worthy of extra tax?
**I don't remember this ever being discussed in Parliament, nor being included in any manifesto.**
When the Labour candidate came canvassing, did he say: 'Vote for me and I promise to recruit an army of inspectors to punish you for putting in double glazing'?
This outrageous intrusion into our liberty deserves to be met with widespread civil disobedience.
Inspectors should be told where to stick their clipboards and cameras and Gordon Brown should be pelted with rotten eggs whenever he shows his face outside Downing Street.
Are we now going to see boarded-up conservatories and once lovingly-tended gardens abandoned to rack and ruin as homeowners seek to avoid crippling bills?
Officials will demand to know previous addresses and even details of bank accounts and mortgages.
The legitimate, law-abiding majority is being put under heavy-duty surveillance and subjected to a torrent of oppressive regulation and extortionate taxation.
You can't break wind in Britain without someone filming, monitoring and recording it and working out how to prize money out of you for the privilege. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
