The police and military don't "murder" people. They defend themselves, and others. If people get killed in the process, that's on them. Shouldn't have done that, you know? It's illegal to murder for the same reason it's illegal to steal. We'd have total anarchy if everyone could kill anyone who pissed them off! |

Animals kill each other for food and self-defense.
Which are the same reasons you are allowed to kill.
If you believe in God, then you owe Him for your life. To kill another for reasons beyond what food or defense would be to attack God Himself; who loves ALL of His creation.
If you believe in evolution and no god, then our purpose here is to keep the species going. Being allowed to kill for any reason or no reason at all goes against your purpose. The law would essentially be one of our stages of evolution; and so the law of natural selection would lead to the idea that you must be stopped from random killing. |

We live in a society bound by laws. The police and military have taken an oath to protect our citizens and our country and Constitution. If you kill, you are taking away someone's right to life. We all have natural rights in this world. However, if you are convicted of a crime (which would be taking away others rights) or are putting others in harms way, then the police or military have the duty to take you down in order to protect others from you. |

Because we are human beings and not animals. And as human beings, laws were enacted for us to obey. You could kill someone, not murder, only if it is for self defense. |

Your question is valid. I saw "House of 1000 corpses" Its because we have become civilized. We too, are animals, but are domesticated. Murders, rapists, etc.... are less domesticated and more animal. You could be either. If your feelings get strong to kill an animal and/or human, I'd suggest you see help!!!! |

because it comes down to justice (ever watched deathnote?) its wrong to kill another, without proven fault, how ever those with authority are able to make that judgement, thts what they're trained to do.
in the case of the millitary, they have people who make descions on behalf of their highest authority...like the president of governer general...they assess whether the taking of life is nessecary to achieve 'victory'....if you kill your girl friend, its not a nessecity, your just pissed...see the diff? |

If you were allowed to kill people, then the world would be in chaos. We would start killing everyone around us without the law. |

because if you murder 1 person, more than that 1 person is affected. family, friends, co-workers, and many many other people are connected to that 1 person.
killing is suicide. i wouldn't want to hang out with a killer...
it's just wrong. everyone sins. in the senario, you don't have to kill her... JUST BREAK UP WITH HER. making her feel guilty would be a worse punishment. killing her would be like punishing everyone who loves her.

Generally animals kill to eat and to survive. Killing someone for emotional reasons is not the way it works in nature. |

You dont give people their lives. So, what makes you think you have the right to take theirs away?
Violence, on the other hand, I do condone to an extent. I wouldnt hesitate to slap my boyfriend if he hurt me. |

You can go live in a third world country where violence is normal. In some countries (middle-east) you can have your wife stoned to death (not mj) for cheating on you. You should move to Iran! yaaa |

because that will devalue yourself
and u'll be put into the same low position as the one who cheated u. besides there's no point in taking care of the business on your own. let someone else do them justice |

Right to live.
Why do military and police have the right to kill? I'd like to think they have that right because they're defending and protecting people from having their right to live taken away by killers.
Killing someone over cheating seems kind of like an overreaction. I think people wouldn't like being killed over nothing. Reminds me of gang mentality really, killing someone for living in a certain area kind of stuff. |

God is the only person who has the right to judge if a person deserves life or death. You don't have any right to take someone elses life besides your own and maybe you should consider it. That question was seriously scary. |

because it's morally wrong.
an animal's instinct is to survive, as are humans, but the difference between and animal and a human is we have morals, a conscious, we have more knowledge of what is right and what is wrong.
and animals don't cheat so thats a bad example anyway.
but bottom line is it's just wrong because we know better.
and if you don't agree, then their is something wrong with you, no offense. |

Every human deserves Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. When one person takes that away, it's wrong. We hold these truths to be self-evident. Apparently they're not to you. Seek counciling. |

True by the law of nature we can kill any person we wish. But we override those rules when we formed societies for mutual protection and gain. |
