Find answers to your legal question.

ok... is it illegal to marry someone when there is a 27 year difference?

ok also: do not ask me what age we are because it does not matter... i am simply asking if it is illegal or legal

as long as you are both 18 or older or have a parent or guardian sign for you.

depends...

if you/they are:
16: you need parental consent
under 16: illegal.
both over 16: legal

It is legal if both partners are either 18 years or older. There is no illegal activity if you are like 18 and they're 40. It doesn't matter and it happens all the time. Don't worry.

defianetaly not but yes if theyre or you are under 18 lol

morg.spen
Nah. Ppl marry ppl 30 yrs older than them all the time.
Maybe it varies in states tho?

KatZee
you can't ask people not to ask your age because this situation can be both legal and illegal at the same time. If you are under 18 yes, that's illegal. If you are over 18 no then it's legal.

The people getting married have to be over the age of 18, or have parental permission. Once you're over the age of 18 you're considered to be an "adult", so you can marry whomever you want. Legally it is ok. Ethically however... that's a different story!!

It probably depends on what country you live in. I live in Ireland, and as far as I know, as long as you are over 18 , the age difference doesn't matter.

All the best wishes for a long, happy, and healthy marriage!

It is legal, but if one is a minor then they have to have parental constent.

If you have things in common then what is the difference you only meet a match made in heaven when you are ready no one said any thing about the age of your match so good luck. Remember if you have no hang ups then neither should anyone else. It is legal so carry on!

devilishly_angelic_1
It does make a difference how old you are!!
If you are younger than 18 ,it is illegal to marry anyone older than you.
One thing that also makes a difference is,what country are you getting married in?Some countries are SICK when it comes to this....

wizjp
As long as both parties are of legal age in the state they will be wed in, there are no "outer limits"

Lovely Lady 27
As long as you are both of legal concent or if you are under 18 you have your parents permission and that is only in some states. But if you are both 18 and over then you can be 18 and the other person could be 101 it doesn't matter.

Mike
As long as both are of legal age then it is legal

There is no law regarding age unless one of you is under 18.

Why in the world would it be illegal to have a 27 year age difference if you are both over 18?

ღ3amღ
What they said.
It's legal as long as you are both above the minimum age required ....which is 18.

No illegal unless one of you is under the age restriction of the state. Other than that there is no restriction in ages.

Yogi
not illegal .... if both are of consenting age, and are happy what is the problem?

Neon
As long as the younger one of you is over the age of 18, then no it is not illegal.

No problem if both are adults.

Kat
so long as you both are of legal age, neither of you are already married to someone, and you are in love you can be married.

If you're 37 and she's 10...yes, that's illegal.

If you're 47, and she's 20, no, it's not....but I doubt it'd last long.

orangeroselover23
its totally legal if u both are over 18

PingPongDude
Actually not... It's very weird that you asked that question because my Grandpa Jacob Good and Grandma Elaine Good have that exact age difference, and they are married! No lie!

Meister
legal, if both over the legal minimum.

chad c
as long as both parties are over 18 it doesn't matter. remember anna nicole smith married that 90 year old guy, that was a much bigger difference than 27 years.
