yuyu... ur a ****.

what are u on about? this is yahoo answers, this isnt a bloody job interview I can type and act how i like

Well, to start off, don't type things like "plz" and then make sad faces. That's immature. I'm seventeen and even I know that. Second, don't say "a lot" and third, make sure you use complete sentenced when typing a resume.

You can't spell grammar and you can't spell experience.

That is why you are getting these answers, it is not to do with abbreviations such 'plz'.

I'll be honest, not being mean at all, but if at you job, you spell and use grammar like you do in your post, then I don't think that it's a lack of experience that isn't getting you hired, it's a lack of ability to do the job.

Find the e-mail address of every solicitors in the area , you can find this from their web-site, and send your letter with the attached CV and tell them about your ambitious and your plans for further education. Someone will invite you for an interview. Don't give up, you are not the only one who has to face this problem. Good luck!

go to a temp agency ... have them place you at a job in your field doing something stupid ... do your best .. get noticed ... chances are they will hire you within months ... to get to the top sometimes you have to be willing to start at the bottom!

Sounds like you need to network, get your foot in a door some other way. All else fails, ask to be taken on by someone as an unofficial externship.

Or lie.

you could do volunteering and community service. that could get you started off. my brother volunteered at an animal shelter, got a letter of recommendation from the shelter, and that counts as experience number 1. Then he coached my softball team, got a letter from the league, and there you have it. good luck!

They probably want you to have hands on experience in an office, so try to apply for jobs as an admin assistant to gain some experience, this will all be tranferrable to a solicitors office, I take it you went to college straight from school so they probably percieve you as not having the people skills either as this also comes with hands on experience. Don't give up, also try the court houses as they also use secretary's and this will also give you experience in a legal area and not waste your training. Good Luck

best bet is to try a recruitment agency, they have both full time, part time and contract work ie maternity cover.

give them your CV and they will do the work for you and get you the interviews you need in order to find a placement.

there are plenty of national recruitment places, just try job site like fish4jobs and total jobs, lots of recruitment agencies advertise on here so this maybe a good starting point.

oh and dont worry about the people knocking the grammer, personally I think its only because they have nothing useful to say and just want to get 2 points instead of actually helping someone (what yahoo answers is actually for)

good luck

I know it's hard but just keep trying someone will give you a chance eventually. Try going to an agency at least to get something then you can look around more when you have the so called experience. Good luck hope you get a break soon :)

I've got an idea. Have you thought of offering your services on a voluntary basis to your local citizens advice bureau. Your knowledge of legal terminology would be of great value to them and you would get experience dealing with real live cases so to speak. You would also benefit by being able to offer a work based reference when applying for jobs. Another idea is to widen your scope of applications e.g: Estate agents may also require legal secretaries or possibly the police. Try thinking outside the box and good luck.

bloody Americans and their grammar wars always fighting about something.
Hun i did 5 years uni and the lack of experience held me back i was apparently over qualified as legal secretary and under qualified as a paralegal or Trainee Solicitor(dosent leave many jobs left in the legal area as i guess you know) so now I'm looking for a different direction so my answer is if you are willing to move to London, Manchester, Liverpool all have expanding legal firms in them and lots of legal specific recruitment agencies don't take the knock backs to heart something will turn up
