it's illegal, at home and anywhere else. the only people who can have a carry permit are licensed bodyguards, security guards(even though they have to take them off when not on the job). what if your kid or someone else's kid got a hold of your weapon when you were at home?

What are you up to?
Anyway: carrying them out in public is absolutely illegal! At home legal as long as you don't start firing in all directions and mowing down neighbours etc whilest standing in your garden. They're legal for sports at sport clubs. But I wouldn't advise you on carrying firarms anywhere. If you don't have'em you won't get the risk of having to pay fines and handing inyour weapons.

Carrying weapons with you is just asking for trouble.... I mean, wot if you had to use it?

You would never see the light of day again..... well, not unless you had a window on your prison cell!

you can legally carry a firearm in public if it is NOT concealed. of course you'll probably be asked by the cops why. you can legally keep a firearm in your home and carry it around. you can transport firearms in your car. if you get pulled, tell the cop IMMEDIATELY that you have one. failure to disclose can get you into trouble, if they happen to find it if searched. some states ban certain types of guns, best to call your local sheriffs office to find out

illegal you need a licence to carry fireams in the U.S.A.

for the most part in most states if its a registered rifle the bolt should not be in it and a gun case with it inside of inside as far as pistols go you have to i pretty sure you can apply for for a transport license to go to a firing range & like every one has said state do vary

Firearm laws vary significantly from state to state.

Of course, any firearm has to have a license, but to carry a concealed weapon, legal in some states, you have to have a concealed handgun license.

If you're a hunter with a rifle, you can carry the rifle unloaded in plain view (hence the often seen behind the head in the rear window of a truck holder).

Obviously by definition, any weapon not street legal cannot be carried legally.

as long as you have a license to carry a firearm, you may carry it/have it on you. If you have a license to have one, you may have one in your home. People have hunting rifles and such in their homes all the time; they can carry them in their vehicles, but they must not be loaded.

If you have a permit to carry, you may carry a weapon in some (but not all) states. There is a current legal challenge in the southern states by employees who wish to carry firearms onto company property but are prohibited form doing so by company policies banning weapons in the workplace (for example, employees who want to go hunting after work and leave a weapon in their vehicle in the company parking lot. As of now, company policies prohibiting employees to carry weapons are still enforceable.

Weapons such as assault rifles, bombs, and so on are prohibited in most cases regardless of where you live. Your local law enforcement officer or gun shop should be able to advise you on the laws in your area.

Its always illegal to carry a firearm if you don't posess a license to carry. You need to check into your state's laws and see what the law is like there, because there are different ages for this throughout the country.

It depends where you live--state laws vary, with some requiring no license or permit at all.

Gem
This depends on the laws in your state.

In most, if not all, states it is illegal to carry a loaded firearm without the appropriate license.

Tim
Laws differ by state. I guess you mean (XRATED) as prohibited guns. They would be prohibited.

You need to check the gun laws with your state. You can carry in some, others you can't.

vicseo
Any XRATED firearm is illegal, regardless of whether it's concealed or carried in the open. There are actual federal laws against the actual possession, sales or purchasing of certain types of paramilitary assault weapons. The penalties are quite severe and can leave you in prison for a long time with major money fines.

As for the issue of carrying any concealed weapon on your person, it's a matter of how the concealment is disclosed. For example, if you are undergoing a shake down, pat-down by a law enforcement person and you "fail" to disclose verbally that your are carrying a concealed weapon, you can be charged with an offense of carrying a concealed weapon. Nevertheless, it's a different matter should you have a lawful concealed weapon permit. It's all in the method of disclosure. Again, you cannot be charged with concealment of a weapon's violation, unless you "fail" to respond appropriately [by saying "yes"] to the query "are you carrying a gun or other type of weapon?'"

On another topic. If you are very concerned about becoming a victim of possible gun fire because of the group you are hanging with, perhaps consider the purchase of affordable body armor starting around $640 [an undergarment] from usbodyarmor.com. Because of the dangerous neighborhood where I reside [southcentral L.A.], I wear body armor at all times.

Good luck!
