What the officer did was wrong yes, but what you did was abhorrent!!!!! I'd personally like to call you every name in the book as well. You could have at least waited until the poor guy got back to the states and out of danger. What if your statement upset him so much that he can't concentrate and ends up screwing something up and getting killed.

I can't beleive that you would give such devestating news over the phone to begin with....second of all, the guy is fighting in a war, he needs to be as focused as possible. If something happens to him or anyone else because he wasn't at the top of his performance because of him being emotionally distracted, distraught, devestated or anything else, ALL OF THOSE CASUALTIES ARE YOUR FAULT. You should have waited to tell him until he was home. You have obviously been cheating on him anyways, which is bad enough, so what difference would it have made if you had continued and not said anything until he was safe and other people were not at risk. And now you want to report the commander????? He was being nice to you. He now has a crushed man he has to deal with who could now be a safety threat to the entire unit not just himself because you couldn't wait until he was home on leave or out of the war. His commander doesn't have time to deal with this and shouldn't have to just because of your heartless selfishness. They have names for women who did this in past wars.
