yes they can as long as the one the have left works. my uncle lost one of his when he was shot down in the war and he had two kids. so it can happen.

Yes they can. My Gym teacher said he lost one while playing football at his old high school. He never had kids, but i don't know what happened to him. All I know is that it is possible.
