Why have there allways been wars?

This is not a question with a straight forward answer. There are many reasons for war. And you will also have to define war. Although it is not in our DNA, there are as many reasons for war as there have been wars. Most people do not believe there are too many reasons for giving there own lives for, or for taking an-others life, but will give there life to someone else to take or give. For as long as there have been man, there has been a reason for some type of conflict. The instinct to survive is strong and can play a factor in death, but not in war. War is not the measurement of killing one or two men, but two organized groups fighting to accomplish one main goal. Weather that goal be the same or be different. War in many cases has been to defend ones right to have something they have not yet received, or to defend something they don't wont to give up. In any case, there is not straight forward answer to your question.

It's a simple question that really doesn't need to have a complicated answer.

There are only 3 reasons for War, and these are:
(1) Land
(2) Religion
(3) Resources
**4) Insane Leaders of the world

As long as these 3 exist, War will exist.
History tells us the stories of Land and Resources, Today...Religion has become stronger than the 2 others.

I put the 4th one in there b/c every so often history repeats itself with insane leaders. (i.e. - Hitler, Stalin, Hussein,etc.), but even these are actions of insanity from a leader who wants claim over 1, 2 or 3.

I would start with greed, then religion, race power and many a little too much testosterone.
People have always wanted what they don't have. Some time that means land or property. Hitler and people like him wanted the world or at least half of it. He justified his war with the idea he would clean up the world in order that his pure race would rule over lesser humans. His passion for conquest gave his people jobs and made them feel good about themselves, so they followed him like sheep.
These days it seems like religion is the main cause of conflict. Lies that are told these religious fanatics result in unnecessary deaths. Religion though the ages has cost countless deaths. Makes you think doesn't it?

War is an extenstion of conflict. Conflict arises for many different reasons. It is simplistic to talk about greed athough there is some truth in the concept. The garbage about thining the popuation is simply that garbage. The truth is that at the end of most wars there are more people than when the war started. Most wars are determined by either one group having more than another group or by one group attempting to impose their views upon another group.

It seems to be popular in these answers so far to blame this imposition of views on religion but if we look at Stalin and Mao, the impostion in those cases were to stamp out organized religion.

I think that the root cause of war is really a lack of a secure feeling. Whether that lack of security comes from not having enough natural resources, or wealth or a fear of another world view being imposed upon you. These are the things that generally lead to conflict and war.

As long as there are people that have more natural resources, or more wealth or a differing philosphy there will be conflict and war. Communism was an attempt to solve this problem, but the truth is that great power always leads to the desire to subborgate people, to take away thier rights for thier own good and freedom minded people will fight back.

You want to end war, what you have to do is to turn the worlds population into a unifed group of mindless people with no will of thier own and you can end war. As long as people have minds to think independently and a desire for freedom and liberty you will have war..

I have not read all of the answers, but one of your responders wrote:

As I was scanning your answers to this question I came across the one above... and this one is the closest to the truth that I've read so far, although not completely true. Satan (Lucifer) was not thrown out of heaven BEFORE the world was made. He was not thrown out BEFORE humans were made. He was thrown out when God (Jehovah) deemed the time was right for him to be thrown out, him and his rebellious followers. Man was NOT created with inborn hostile tendencies, etc., etc. as some people think. Man and woman were created perfect, but because they were rebellious against Jehovah they became imperfect and through that imperfection became susceptible and prone to the negative and hostile ways of Satan and his demons. The Bible says that Satan is misleading the entire earth (the people). Yes, his dominion is the earth right now and he knows he has a short time left before Jehovah will destroy him and his wicked demons...so he's angry and on an all out mission to turn everyone against Jehovah and bring as many people down with him as possible. WARS are only one of the effects of Satan's rule over mankind. Once Jehovah DESTROYS Satan and his demons, yes there will be peace, not just for a thousand years, but forever... the everlasting peace Jehovah God originally intended for the earth and its inhabitants. If people were to follow the advice given in the Bible they would be able to live in a relative amount of peace right now and would be able to look forward to the time when there will be peace forever... but no one seems to want to learn what's in the Bible (God's Word) or follow it's advice.

Two reasons really. First every living organism has a system in place for "thinning the herd" so as not to strain resources. Everyone but man. War is the closest we come to this. Secondly, sadly it is our nature. Every since there have been more than 3 ppl on this planet man has killed out of jealousy hatred or difference of opinion. Most often in the name of their God so they collectivly dont have to take responsibility for their actions.

Races, religions, classes and ethnicities have always attempted to subrogate others so for the forseeable future there will continue to be war. We feel free to take rights, land, life and liberty from those we view as inferior, what else can we have but war.

It's in mankind's nature that as long as there are evil men in the world who want to impose their will upon others, they will find ways to power and use war to enforce that will...

Consider this: if the police, security guards, and every other security agency lacked firearms or other weapons to subdue criminals, do you think banks would be safe? Of course not, people with the criminal mindset would find a way to get guns and rob banks... It's sadly just the way things are...
