Wow, your friend sounds like a responsible parent wanting to put her children in the back of a car with not enough seats. Also you would be negligent to allow her to. You will get points for overloading your vehicle as the number of seatbelts = the number of passengers you are allowed to carry. There are NO EXCEPTIONS.

Any passenger in a car equipped with seat belts must have a dedicated seat belt. Any child under a certain age and weight must have a dedicated seat belt and or seat. If you, as the driver ignore this rule, YOU will be liable for any penalty, and also, if there were to be an "accident" (waiting to happen) YOU would be liable for any injuries etc. Stop asking dumb questions, and make 2 trips. I'm surprised you even have a licence.

so why have one child at risk. what if you do have an accident. youve answered your own question.... A FINE ... how much. well for that one childs safety I`d throw the bloody book at ya. If it involves children I would say a hefty fine. sorry ,gotta bit carried away . but there children and your responsible for there safety

Timbo is here
Invalid insurance as you are insured only for the number of seats stated in the V5C log book - car confiscated, 6 points on your licence and a £200 plus fine.. Likely seatbelt violation which you as the driver would be responsible for if carrying kids uner 14 - 3 points per child. Further problems if children are not carried in the correct chid seat, possible more points more fines and a ban - at least you wont need the confiscated car. Not caught but just have to brake heavily in an emergency - one unrestrained child, at least, catapulted into you or the passenger in the front with likely broken bones and possible death(s) As you are the driver, if you allow this child cruelty, then you are the responsible for it.
