Dynamic Inertia - A body in motion will stay in motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an outside force. When a car is traveling in a line, and a person turns the wheel, the dynamic inertia wants the car to continue in a straight line. About a third of all fatal accidents involving teenagers involve this type of rollover accidents. Teens panic and turn the steering wheel, causing an over-correction. If the speed and mass of the vehicle are sufficient, the car will continue in a straight line, no matter which direction the wheels are pointed. The over-correction causes the car to roll. Accidents where the vehicle yaws, or is no longer traveling straight line, the dynamic inertia keeps the car moving straight. This happens when the driver tries to take a jump, or go fast over a bump in the road. The car turns slightly in the air, but the dynamic inertia keeps the car moving straight.

The Mr. Pine
Momentum and speed cause the car to roll when all or part of its progress is impeeded.

cars and SUVs generally tip over when you are out of control of the vehicle meaning if the vehicle is heading down the road a chipmunk runs across and animal loving driving swerves to miss the rodent and the rear tires try to catch up but can't which causes it to catch the edge and there you are in what is called a fish tail as the driver tries to re correct they generally over steer which causes them to be past the point of no return just like if you were to go ice skating you have an edge on your skates so you can cut the ice which propels you forward but when you stop you turn your skates on an angle which the force of you going forward and pressing down onto the ice causes you to shave the ice but if your not leaning to the opposite direction you will flip over onto your side same idea is when the vehicle turns at a high rate of speed it cuts an edge with your tires and they catch the pavement the car or SUV starts to lean in the direction travel and of course the SUVs are top heavy which helps to roll anything over well i hope that I've explained it to you so you can understand the laws of physics but the first answer was telling you a little about the laws of motion which helps if you understand them

Usually, a vehicle rolls over when the vehicle is "tripped" by something in the road. This could be the curb that is hit by a car sliding sideways. It could also be a rut or bump in the grass median while a car is sliding sideways in the grass. Those are the most often causes of vehicle rollovers. Though the real answer is idiot drivers. If you're driving a SUV, don't be swerving like crazy into the median or shoulder while going sideways. Also don't tailgate, as your car can't come close to handling as well as a passenger car.

An object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will continue in motion in a straight line with zero acceleration until acted upon by an outside force. A car will flip when an outside force like another cars slams into it hard enough. Or it can run up a ramp like the center divider and do a spin.
