can i drive with a permit by myself over the age of 25?

do you have a license to drive a car? if so, you can drive by yourself. if you don't have a license, you can't. At least, not legally. don't they explain to you the difference between "permit" and "license"? I'm really surprised that the DMV in your state will hand out permits without explaining the rules.

Permit guidelines exist because the holder of the permit has no practical experience behind the wheel. Although you are over the age of 25 (a legal adult) you are still required to have a licensed driver over the age of 21 with you in that vehicle at all times. Additionally, that licensed individual must not be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and may not have had their license currently revoked. Their license must be current. You may also note that because you only have a permit, you are not permitted by law to have any passengers in the vehicle (licensed or not) under the age of 21 until you have your license.

No. You are not a licensed drive. You must have a licensed driver in the vehicle with you at all times, regardless of your age. You do not have, nor should you think you have, the same privileges as a licensed driver. EMT

No. You need to have a driving instructor, or at least someone with a license in the car with you.
