IF A THIEVE WANTS SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH THEY WILL TAKE IT.

All Nissans and Toyotas are at risk no matter the year. Car thieves go for the car that can be chopped up and made new again very easily. Toyotas and Nissans are two of the most popular cars for the fact that it is easy to supe them up.

A lot of newer cars have specialized anti-theft systems (where the computer on-board waits for a signal from the key) or other systems that make stealing them much harder. While they are not necessarily impossible to steal they are much more difficult and take more skills. Thieves in my opinion would shy away from stealing these cars and go for easier lower profile stealing. I certainly wouldn't get a false sense of security but I would definitely take as many precautions to make anybody looking at your car as a possible target think twice and move on. There are tons and tons of cars out there. Like they said, if you and a friend are out hiking in the woods, and you come across a bear, all you really have to do to survive is run faster than the other guy. If you make your car look secure and hard to deal with, there is more than likely someone else parked around that has an easier target for a car that they will go to instead. While it isn't foolproof it certainly helps. Consider people who steal Wi-Fi. If you even have 1 level of security on it, 99% of people will just move on and try and find an un-secure network instead and use that. That's just my opinion on the whole thing. Again though, nothing will make your car completely safe even being in a garage.

They'll steal whatever car looks easy to get into, and old cars usually have weaker locks that are easier to pick.
