New Born French Passport Application while I am on a 457 visa in Australia?

I have come over to Australia on a 457 subclass Visa on my French Passport.. We are going to have a baby in July, I understand that the child will not automatically have a Australian passport.
I would like to apply for a French passport for my newborn.
How would I go about doing this? Do I just make an appointment at the French Embassy?

Here is the page of the Embassy of France in Australia.
What you will do is go to the Embassy within 30 of the birth of the child and register the child.
In the mean time register yourself also before birth to the consular services.
