Dmitri A	You do not have to give up your citizenship before applying, but you are going to lose it anyway after your obtain Australian citizenship, as Ozmaniac already stated in her response.

Ozmaniac	Australia recognises and accepts dual citizenship but Nepal does not so if you become an Australian citizen, you will lose your Nepalese citizenship. Section 10(1) of the Nepal Citizenship Act 2006 states: "Any citizen of Nepal who voluntarily acquires the citizenship of any foreign country shall automatically lose the citizenship of Nepal". http://www.britishcitizen.info/NCA2006.pdf Nepal Citizenship Act (2063) 2006
