I was backing out of a full car park, i had a 4WD 2 spots down to my left so i couldnt see anything, not being able to see properly i backed out slowly an very cautious so i wouldnt hit the car on my right and coz i couldnt see any oncoming traffic to my left, then BANG i backed into an oncoming car leaving the car park.. (she came from my left) I hav been told by several people that if anyone who hits u in the rear of the car is at fault but i thaught i was at fault because i couldnt see properly and backed out anyway. HELP? theres no damage to my car but the plastic covering and maybe the light aswell on the left side of her car was smashed. Who's at fault? The chick just called me n told me i have to pay for her smased light!? do i pay?

Annelise	you're at fault because you were backing up and didn't check that the way was clear if a person rearended you in normal traffic where you both were moving forward, it would be the rear person's fault. this isn't the same as that.
