Can I use my paper driving licence in France?

I have an old-style full UK driving licence and am going on holiday to France in three weeks. Will my licence be valid in France, or will I have to replace it with a new style plastic one? I am worried I won't have time to do this and will end up with no licence at all!!!

TJW	As Far as I am aware the Photo card is the only type of licence that is accepted in the EU and you will need to take both parts, The photo card and the paper part 2. You can check with the A.A or R.A.C they will advise you as to the requirements for driving in the EU, if there is an alternative they will know. I have the old type as well.
