I've got my test booked for just under 2 weeks time now and am planning to go see my gp to see if i can have something to settle my nerves on the day so just wondering if any of you have been prescribed anything? if so what also did it work?

FYI TIMBO it is on my instructors advise that i go to see my gp as it's common for them to give people things for nerves on occassions such as driving tests if you are going to be rude i suggest in future don't answer

A little nervousness is good, you need to prove to yourself you are capable, do not doubt your capability you will be OK. The tester is there to be shown by you that you are safe on the road, imagine you have an older relative in the back seat and prove to them they will have no fear of going with you, deep breaths before you move off, and get that sequence right, be calm, not too calm or you may be confident for the wrong reasons, your instructor will be a help in keeping your confidence in check. Good driving, not luck helps a lot.

Best not to waste your GPs and your time as he will not prescribe something for you when you are not ill - hopefully he will be able to charge you for wasting his time. |

Discuss this with your GP. I took beta blockers for a couple of days before my Father of the Bride speech last year. Very stressful! Didn't work. |
