Motorcycle accident - How much insurance money will I get?

I recently had an accident on my motorbike where a car did a U-turn in front of me and I went over the handlebars. I fractured my heel, broke a finger and tore the ligaments in my legs. I've been in pain since it happened and am only just getting well enough after 2 Months to walk without crutches. I have not had any sick pay as I work for agencies and have lost around £500 a week. This has almost caused me to lose my house. I want to know how much money I should expect to get as a payout? I'm not expecting to be back at work for a few weeks yet and I still have limited movement in my legs (I can't crouch down).

It really is impossible to give you an exact number. I'm not sure what the laws are like in the UK or wherever you're based when it comes to insurance. It will heavily depend on the insurance policy that the at-fault driver had. If they offer you a settlement, think carefully before accepting it, especially if you're still suffering from injuries and seeking expensive medical treatment for it. You would benefit from speaking with a personal injury lawyer who can evaluate the insurance coverage and damages to give you an idea of what your case might be worth. You can usually find a PI Lawyer that offers a free consultation. Like other people mentioned, it can take awhile to settle your case if you continue to seek medical treatment. Afterall, you wouldn't want to settle without knowing the full expense of your damages. The best thing you can do is talk to a legal professional in your area. DISCLAIMER: I'm not a lawyer so don't take this as legitimate legal advise. You should consult with a bar-certified attorney for actual advice.

In your insurance claim you should be claiming for pain and suffering and loss of earnings. Is your insurance company pursuing a claim for personal injury as well as the repairs to your motorcycle. No one can be certain of the amount you will receive as the other company makes a offer to your company which they then forward to you.Usually the first offer is a bit derisory. Then subsequent offers increase. If the insurance companies cannot come to a satisfactory agreement for you then it will go to a civil court. But often when this happens the threat to go to court usually results in a higher offer. As you are still on crutches I would expect your insurers to wait to see if you make a full recovery to make sure there is no permanent disablement. They could get you physiotherapy paid for by the other insurers. This is usually faster than getting it through the NHS. Were the Police called to the accident. As they should have been in the event of someone being injured. As this would help your claim in proving liability. Sorry I cant put a figure on your injury but I would only be guessing.Keep in touch with your insurers by phone now and then to keep them on the ball and you informed.

No real way of answering this, everyones cases are different therefore loses and payouts are different case to case, my wife had a car accident and they only covered her costs to her including time off work and loss of wages.. Thing is you wont be able to be paid out until you know your at a point that you have recovered fully, no point in claiming and then find you have more expenses down the line after its done and dusted.

There's no way we can answer that here; the insurance company should offer to pay your medical bills, and whatever wage loss you can prove--but that may be difficult. Talk with the adjuster and see what they're offering, then negotiate if you feel it's not enough.

Impossible to say and it will not even be assessable until you are almost over all the injuries. Even then expect it to take a couple of years to sort out and longer if they do not settle out of court. As an agency worker with no guaranteed income you may get very little if anything for lost earnings but they should pay out on the pain and suffering you have sustained. Remember any compensation recieved, in part or full, may have to be paid back to the Benefits Agency if you have been able to claim from them. A specialist solicitor is the one you should be asking.
