Will your insurance cover an accident with a family member in their driveway?

I was parked in my mothers driveway at christmas and she backed up into my car. I was told by my dad that the insurance wouldn't cover it if it was a family member on their private property, is this true? I don't want to lie and say it was in some parking lot but at the same time I want my insurance to cover me when I need it. Does anyone know how insurance companies view damages caused by family members in their own driveway?

sensible_man	Dad is mistaken. This would be the same as if it happened in a parking lot. If you claim it on your insurance, you will need to pay any deductible, and this could also raise your premium.
