I am 7st 10lbs and my BMI says that I am underweight - but only by about 2 points. Any ideas guys?

I don't know if local agencies have BMI or weight requirements that federal agencies don't have, but federal agents/officers aren't required to be a certain weight, as long as they can deal with the physical hardships of their agency's academy.
That said, being really small is not very intimidating(especially if you're a female, no offense) and could affect your command presence which is a huge part of being an officer. Being a small person is going to make a lot of situations difficult for you, but having good presence is going to keep you out of those situations.
If you can keep up with all the other guys at physical training, I really don't think it matters how much you weigh. |

Most departments no longer require a minimum weight, they say "height proportional to weight.
So if you are healthy you should be fine.
Look at the department guidelines on hiring requirements to know. |

I am not sure of the exact BMI police require but it is in the mid range of ideal weight. |
