If someone stole my car, and I think I know who did...?

What would happen? Do I tell the police who I think did it, and will they track him down and interrogate him? What if they don't find my car with him, but I'm STILL sure this person took my car? And I gave them reasons and motivations? Will there by a trial? Will they further investigate this cuy? Would they throw him in jail? Help.....

well all you can do is give the police any Information you might have and hope for the best

Hi, Sorry to hear about your car, hopefully i can shed some light. I deal with cases like yours frequently, where the victims knows who did it, but there is no evidence. If you give the police this information they will check it through their intel systems, and if you get a good officer and this person is easy to find, then they might even go and ask a few questions. However, remember that the justice system work on evidence, and that means "that which is seen", and this must be hard facts, eyewitness accounts, fingerprints, any threats made prior or after the event. It can't be just deductive reasoning because taht would be too flimsy to arrest people on. Without any evidence nothing will happen... but that being said if you let the police know, and they have a good intel department and you get a good officer, you never know what tey will uncover. Best of luck

Police don't work on "you think". You would need some evidence before you can accuse someone of a felony.
