Personally, I think rape. The person has to live with that trauma for the rest of their life where as someone who's murdered doesn't have to worry about that. |

Obviously murder. There are rape survivors. There are no murdered survivors. While rape is tremendously damaging, both physically and psychologically, victims of rape can and should get help to bring their lives back to some normalcy. They still have friends, families, and other loved ones they can turn to for support. Murder is the end of the line for the victim and their family. No support, no family gatherings, no holidays, etc. That is it. |

It's very difficult to answer this question. I'm sure the family of a murder victim would say murder while the victims of a rape would say it was rape. Both are considered heinous and high priority in the criminal justice system. |

I think rape would be more severe. Consider the trauma which the victim would face afterwards. No doubt, he/she would have to undergo countless counseling sessions and may be severely psychologically affected. It may even lead to suicide.
Consider murder, the victim is dead. However, the victims do not have to endure the pain of the consequences following the crime. It does really depend on how the person was killed though. Were they killed clumsily with many blows so that they ultimately bled to death? Or were they administered poison and died quietly? One must take these factors into consideration. With rape, there is no distinction between 'soft' or 'hard' rape.

murder because with rape the person is still alive for their families and can get counseling.
but with murder you never that person again and your less likely to find the person who did it. |
