I was going 43 in a 25 school zone on a day that kids didn't have school. I drive a lifted truck with the speedometer 8 mph off so I'm thinking about getting it calibrated. I saw the cop that pulled me over but I was thinking it was the weekend and I didn't look at the flashing sign. I have a court summons but it doesn't say a fine amount. This is my first ticket so do I have any chance of getting it taken off my record? the paper he gave me only said a court date and not a fine amount. am i supposed to call and see what the fine is?

I am NOT a yahoo worker	pay a heavy fine and it might. fight it and you will get it on your record.

LordGodGoose	You will be charged with going 18MPH over the limit AND with speeding in a School Zone (it doesn't matter if school is in or not), and will learn a valuable and HUGELY expensive lesson.....(or perhaps several)...laws are there for a reason, so try to pay attention....and if you don't want more police attention than everybody else, for heaven's sake don't drive a toy on the public roads! Your insurance is going to go EVEN FURTHER through the roof!

Everythang's gonna be all white	Go to court and fight it. School zones are 25 mph "when children are present". There is usually another speed limit during off school days and it is normally 45. You have a good case. If school was out and there were no kids present, you can win this one.

q S	In my state the max fine for speeding in a school or construction zone is $650 including the surcharge. Fines doubled of course.
