When cops aims their guns at you and tell you to stop, are they allowed to shoot you if you run?

ornery and mean	If the officer has pulled his weapon out ... deadly force is already on the table. The officer has determined that there is sufficient reason to shoot the perpetrator. They don't aim for the leg because even an expert military trained marksman would miss more often than hit. Be Different!	When a Law Enforcement officer tells you to stop, you should obey him. As a law-abiding citizen, you are expected to OBEY THE LAW. Failure to heed a lawful order of a peace officer is a violation of the law in itself. If you flee, and they have observed in the commission of a felony, or of being a danger to someone, you MAY get shot. Telling you to stop (unless you are guilty of a crime) is NOT synonymous with going to prison. Even IF you are guilty of a crime, it is not always synonymous with going to jail. BTW, it is a TV thing to see cops shoot a leg or a hand INTENTIONALLY. They are taught to shoot for the largest target (i.e. center mass). Why are you a coward if you obey the law? I am not following you here? And NO ONE deserves to get raped, in prison or out.

After that decision, an officer can only shoot someone fleeing if they feel allowing the person to escape is a danger to society. Shooting someone in the leg is a myth created by movies. If an officer is authorized to use deadly force, then they shoot for center mass to stop the threat. A person shot in the leg can still shoot back. In addition, the leg is a much smaller target and easy to miss. Officers are 100 percent accountable for every shot they fire, so if the miss and the bullet travels beyond the target, they are responsible for anything it strikes. Even the best marksman will have a difficult time shooting a moving leg.
