i don't own a real police scanner but i get the feed through the computer i was just wondering why people use them is it out of nosiness or concern citizens

I own 10 scanners. i use them for multiple reasons. First reason is that i want to know what is going on in my city or neighborhood. It helps to know when the police are chasing a suspect on foot in my area, I can lock the doors so there is no chance the suspect can gain entry into my home. Second reason is I am a amateur radio operator. Having several scanners programmed with local repeaters gives me the chance to monitor them and listen. The third reason is I often run local Skywarn nets or use the scanners to listen to other repeaters or NOAA weather radio while I am storm spotting or chasing. |

i used it when i didnt have cable.its pretty interesting when you have the codes for everything around you.i think i also used that link.my scanner is pretty good.200 channels i can save in 10 banks.my scanner also gets amateur ham radio users <~~good for tornadoes
