Can you edit a contract before signing it?

if you don't agree with something on a contract, can you cross things out or add things.

Will Burr	Yes, and it doesn't matter who signs it! It's all good!

hotwheels122287	yeah but then the other person will have to agree with the changes as well..

clayjar_azn	Yes, but all parties involved must agree to the changes. Then a new contract has to be written to reflect the changes. You can't just change it anyway you please.

satyagrahi	Yes. But the full signature of both the parties will have to be affixed.

Dave87gn	Yes, just make both parties initial the spot that you change

Jo	Yes but the edit has to be acceptable to both parties. Usually you just change and initial the change.
