Do you need a work permit if you're a high school graduate?
Find answers to your legal question.

Do you need a work permit if you're a high school graduate?

i just graduated from high school and a few weeks ago i got hired at abercrombie. they require all 17 year olds to get work permit before working. im just wondering if i need a work permit or not cause i dont have a school to go to for a work permit and some sites say that if you're a high school graduate, you dont need one. im sort of confused.

If you graduated already you don't need a permit. Work permits are for those 17 and under that are still in school. I think they will have mercy on late birthdays. I guess as long as you show proof of graduation you staight. Ask your employer, but then again, if your employer didnt say anything about it upon hiring you, then I guess you've answered your own question.

You may not need one - BUT; if your employer wants you to get one - for a job ... hey, get one. If you don't know where - ask the employer where you have to go to get one or if they have the form you can fill out and have them send it in for you. You may not need a work permit - but; soon you will need a computer chip or something else and it is best to not make waves so early out of school by bucking against the system that will shortly crash ... get what you can out of it and don't make yourself noticed if you can help it. If they tell you that you have to eat your lunch in the lunch room provided - it is best to do that too - so they can keep the camera's on you ... Peace; Aintmyfault
