I am 17 years old. I know a visitor has to be at least 18 to visit a jail. The information website says that if you dont have a California ID, you can use your school ID as identification. I have a college ID. Is it possible to get away with being 17 with my college ID ?

The school ID has to have your date of birth on it which will be checked by the Officers in the visitation area where you walk in.
If your ID is the type that does not have the birthdate, you will be denied access for a visit.
Unfortunately, being 17, you shouldnt be allowed in at all, but you can always try. Worst case scenario is you are turned away.

try it and see, the worse they'll do is deny your visit...it's not like they'll lock you up!! You should have better things to do in sunny CA than visit a funky jail but if you must, it's best to follow the rules. Keep trying to break rules in life and someone will be visiting YOU in lockup! |

why are you visiting an 18 year old in jail. they sound like a loser to be completely honest. if your in jail at the age of 18 chances are you aren't gonna go very far in life. you know how they got in there? by breaking the law. so go ahead and break the law to try to see them... wow thats powerful stupid. |
