A compromise reached between President Obama and U.S. Congressional Republicans that could extend access to federal unemployment extension benefits is still awaiting Congressional action. The reported agreement includes pushing back the filing deadlines on extension benefits until the end of 2011, as well as extending tax cuts for Americans.
