You have almost no chance of filing a successful emancipation petition UNLESS you are earning enough at your job to be able to fully support yourself. It is not enough that you have a place to live - you have to be able to afford to pay the fair market rent in your area. (Plus you have to earn enough to pay utilities, groceries, phone, transportation, insurance, etc. So, depending on where you live you would need to have a take home pay of at least $1,500 to $2,000 per month. In places with a higher cost of living, it could be $3,500.) If you are earning this type of an income and a judge would find that you are mature and responsible enough to be emancipated, it would still take a minimum of six months between the date you filed the petition and the date a judge would give you an answer. Considering you are 17 now, it seems likely you would turn 18 or be really close to turning 18 before you could even get a decision.

You don't need emancipated... you need educated. How can you HATE people who provide for you? If you could really support yourself... do you think you would still be there?
