I should think so. Car boots are held in public places. I can't wait for 1st July 2007, when England will follow suit. At the moment, we have half measures; i.e. a smoking ban where food is being served.

Car boot sales are still public places, and it doesn't matter if they aren't; smoking is still gonna affect the people who go there!

Well, technically carboots are outside and the ban is for indoors, so no, but sheltered bus-stops are included.

Smoking in Scotland is banned from all ENCLOSED public spaces, therefore if the car boot sale was in an open air car park or field, smoking would be permitted. If it was in an multi-story car park, with a roof, or a warehouse type place, smoking laws would apply.

If you mean "Public Place" as in a park , how on earth would Anybody enforce that

I go to car boots regularly and have never found that the ban has been extended there. Out doors is ok. I cant see the ban getting taken to silly extremes, but then again...stranger things have happened
