One of my best friends has a rare form of kidney cancer and a heart condition. She is currently about 4 months pregnant and her work pretty much fired her because she can no longer do her regular duties as a CNA and is a liability to the company. Since becoming pregnant her heart rate and blood pressure have been crazy causing her to have to leave work a few times. My question is does she qualify for disability or unemployment? She is freaking out because she doesn't know how she is going to come up with rent and such.

gosam777	Unemployment would require she is actively seeking and could accept a job. SSA disability is her best option. Certain cancers and situations will allow them to expedite her claim and get her benefits right away. http://www.socialsecurity.gov/pgm/disability.htm
