What happens if someone missed their court date for sentencing a misdemeanor?

If someone (Not Me) took a plea agreement and missed the date of sentencing, because they just mixed up the days, what usually happens? Again this question is not about me.

The cops will go looking for them with a bench warrant. I have seen this happen. (Not to me.) buckeye

Lindsey Lohan's in big trouble and she had a way more excusable excuse, she was out of the country and had her passport stolen.

That person really needs to talk to their lawyer. They might have missed it but their lawyer didn't. If they are self-representing, then they need to hire a more responsible lawyer :) In the meantime the way to fix it is - call the court, get back onto the docket (court schedule) and this time - don't miss it!

thats a problem....and this person does not have a lawyer who comfirmed that date?....first thing they need to do is call their lawyer and find out what the judge said....they might have a bench warrant meaning they can be arrested and taken to jail until they see a judge.

Dirk
call the court immidiatly, there could be a arrest warrant for you, reset a court date and stay out of trouble till then.

ladystang
depends how fast you contact the court and talk to them.
