Why am I forced by law to place my superannaution into funds which gamble my money on the stockmarket?

By principle and common sense I refuse to gamble.
Yet I am forced by government law to put my money into a fund so that others can gamble with it instead!!!
This is on top of the fact that in my opinion the stock market is a parasite on the profits of buisness and the potential wages of employees, driving inflation through the roof.
That is a side issue and not what I really want answered here, just an example of how wrong it is, in my belief, to be forced to have my future retirement nest egg risked on a system that I believe is quite evil.
What is the logic behind this???
How is this in any way ethical???

Putting your money into a bank savings account or a CD will lose buying power over time. So, if you put 20,000 into a CD, years later you will have "more" money but that money will buy less goods and services than the 20,000 will buy today. On the other hand, if you invest in stocks, you will provide money for companies to grow in your country and provide jobs for its employees, in addition, that 20,000 will likely grow into enough more money that will provide many times more buying power than it has today. The government forces this upon us so we will have enough to retire with and will not become a welfare burden on everybody else. |
