Why do they call it the taxpayers money but give us no say in how it is spent?

I certainly do not agree with MPs giving themselves a pay rise at all, let alone above the rate of inflation as they intend to do when they have a high wage, a huge expense account & others such as nurses & the police have to struggle to get what has been promised.

You do have a say. Tell your MP what you think. http://www.parliament.uk/about/how/members/mps_contact.cfm And remember, you get to vote them in, and if you want, you get to vote them out.
If you want to appreciate democracy, live in North Korea or Burma where there is none. You will be grateful that we live in the system that we do. |

Welcome to the real world. No matter who you vote for a government gets in and they are only there to line their own pockets not yours. Merry Christmas. |

I don't think anyone agrees with the MPs' pay rise other than MPs themselves and their immediate families (some wives being employed under the lavish expense account). The present government has impoverished our country and been wilfully profligate with the money set aside by the Conservative government, which was prudent when it came to managing our wealth. It is small comfort that MPs themselves pay income tax. With everybody so angry over their greed where they are concerned and their meanness towards everyone else, it is a mystery that they are still in power. While they are still running the show, they will tax us to the hilt and spend, spend spend. It's only taxpayers' money. |

We live in almost communist times disguised as a democracy,in a country that is hypocritical! |
|

Hey, Mister Spaceman
|
They do that because income tax is illegal to begin with. There are some ex-IRS agents who found that out and are now refusing to pay income tax. Income tax comes from what you worked for to earn a living. It's not like making money from what you own, like having a business or holding stocks, it's not part of the exploitative capitalist system where you are the exploiter.
The Federal Reserve Bank set this up when they stoled our economy away from us in 1913 and had to put in an income tax that was never ratified by congress. The Feds did this because they were loaning us the money they printed with interest. In order to pay back the debt, we had to borrow more money from them, which had the same interest attached to it. This is called the Debt Currency System and of course it's an unending debt.
To have some kind of real value to all the phony money they print, they had to start taxing working wages because that was the only thing with any real value. You can thank the greed of the Illuminati owned by the families of the Rothschilds of England, the Royal Family of England and the Rockerfellers of the US for this crap. We and the rest of the world would be very well off if it wasn't for them. Their world-wide central banks are the scourge of the world. |

Because they get it from the taxpayer's. It's their money in the sense that the taxpayers are the source...not in the sense that the taxpayers own it, 'cause obviously, they don't. |

We have a say in electing the people who decide how it's spent. The problem is that they do a lot of shady things and keep it hidden from the American public.
If you want to change things, make sure you educate yourself about all the candidates for president in 2008. I've done my research and have found Ron Paul to be the guy who is going to be the friendliest to the taxpayers. |
