my brother got a parking ticket for parking in a residence spot (thinking that it was a normal car park, having paid for a the spot) he paid instantly over the phone by debit card, but he's now worried about if he'll get points onto his license for the penalty, (the only thing that he does know is payin it off early lowers the charge by 50%) but he's still worried, is there anyone out there who can help him please?

No. There are no points for parking. It's all a cynical way of raising revenue and it could happen to any of us. |

Don't worry, no you don't get penalty points on your licence. I've been given parking tickets for various reasons and I have never been given any points on my licence as a result.
To put your mind at ease I insert the following quote:
Parking tickets issued by the council are called 'Penalty Charge Notices'. They require payment of a penalty, and do not result in a criminal record or points on a driving licence. They are separate from Fixed Penalty Notices, issued for criminal offences by the Police and Traffic Wardens. |

Probably no as he has not been asked to send his licence to a court. Penalty points are put on for parking in places where there are yellow lines, white zig zags and dangerous places. |

In California, parking tickets do nor constitute "moving violations" hence they do not result in "points" against your drivers licence. I dont know about other states |

You do not get points against your license for parking tickets. Most states only give points for a "moving violation", which is illegal actions while actually operating a vehicle. |
