Derail	Hey Rock. It's not a crime to finger someone. I'm assuming you're talking about this gesture when verbal exchange is impossible, as with driving. Remember this though, Very rarely does a obscene gesture force the other person in to submission. It almost always creates a similar aggressive action. And in an instant, you have two angry people both trying to get in the last word (or gesture). The point is, it is easy for this spontaneous aggression to escalate into a bad situation. I'm all for making someone realize their inappropriate, or rude behavior, but done verbally. It sinks in better than two people out of verbal range - each looking for a bigger stone to throw (metaphorically speaking). So what is obscene in Cinncinnati (which has strict anti-obscenity laws), may be legal in Los Angeles. Therefore, you can be arrested on obscenity charges, depending on where you raise your fateful finger. But even though it might be legal, it is never smart to flip off a cop. It is a universal sign of asking for trouble.

However, chances are, that if you give the middle finger to a police officer, they'll find something to charge you with. . . such as disorderly conduct. It's not a good idea to piss off a cop.

But, if your partner gives you consent then finger away! And I CERTAINLY wouldn't finger a cop. That's just gross. Unless it was a hot female cop (who gave consent).
