the library says i have fines for a book and a dvd i never took out?

i have no proof that i never took it out it has been renewed once, making this case more complicated i don't even speak french to have taken out the dvd has anyone ever been in this situation and has won? i want to talk to the people in charger, but i have no proof. what am i supposed to do, i definitely DO NOT want to pay those fines.

barfly	one doesn't need to speak French to borrow a DVD from the library. talk to the librarian & consider writing a check to cover the cost -you can claim on your taxes.
