what legislation exists to protect you against harassment?
Find answers to your legal question.

what legislation exists to protect you against harassment?

Sally J
Public Order Act 1986 covers Section 5 Public Order and also Sections 4A & 4 regarding harassment, alarm or distress and the same WITH intent. Protection from Harassment Act 1997 - Protection from harassment and fear of violence. S42 Criminal Justice & Police Act 2001 - Prevention of Harassment in the Home. Being unsure what type of harassment you are talking about, I suggest you enter these acts into a search engine and take a read. If you are being harassed, speak to your local police who should investigate the matter for you and will be better placed to advise you of the legislation that would apply in your case.

There are loads. It depends on what sort of harrassment though. Perhaps there is an equal opportunities legislation that covers everything though.
