I have a legal question....?

I signed up for a place called Uniway that is supposed to be a wholesale company for members only. They charge about $2000 to become a member but I have never bought anything from them and they have never provided anything for in the way of goods or service. Now they are trying to take me to court in order to garnish my wages for the rest of the payment which I don't have and like most people I am working part time now, about 10 hours a week. Is there anything that I can do to stop the harassment?

Your only hope is to counter sue them in small claims court but it is a long shot because they may be a company that has a permanent lawyer on the staff just to deal with this stuff. To be successful in small claims, you will need written evidence of false selling - something they promised but did not deliver. Oral promises are useless as it will be only their word against yours. Make sure you file at a small claims court that is extremely inconvenient to them. I suggest you google a few expressions like "uniway complaints" and "uniway false selling" (keep the quotation marks). Your best hope will be a class action suit if you can find one. If they agree to settle with no further claim and give you this in writing, stop there. No sense in getting greedy. Oh and don't mention your financial picture, it is irrelevant to your case and will only encourage them to go after you.

Iffy
You signed a legal agreement to pay them 2k Yes they can sue and yes they will win
