Is not getting breaks at work, worth fighting for?

I work for a staffing company. Today I worked an 8 hour shift and received no breaks. I was never offered a lunch or even a bathroom break. At the end of the shift I was only credited with working 7.5 hours. They took out the half hour for my lunch break that I never received. Usually I wouldn't complain about missing a break but since I was standing the whole day without water, a snack, or even the chance to use the restroom, I am really upset. I know it is against the law to not receive your breaks at work, but is it even worth fighting over? What would I even get for it? Would it be worth taking them to court over? any advice would be very helpful!

did you ask for one and they said no. or did you just go the whole day thinking someone was going to come up to you and tell you to take a break or lunch or if you had gone pee...

we are adults and we have to ask these things are self you know...

It wouldn't be worth taking them to court over half an four of lost pay. That's just silly. But you should tell either your manager or your HR person that you worked a full 8 hours without even a bathroom break, and you would like to be paid for your entire 8 hours. Ask and you shall receive.

Well, it depends. Are you the only other person to whom this is happening? If so, tell them when you will be taking your lunch break and leave then- know how long you're suppose to take and take it.

But if it is a company-wide issue, or even your branch, then yes, it is worth taking them to court over. In fact, amongst other things, Abercrombie & Fitch lost a class-action lawsuit for such shananigans.

Where are you? If in the US, some require breaks, most don't unless you're a minor. But they do have to pay you for 8 hours if you worked 8 hours.

No it's not something to take them to court over - you'll just cost yourself money that way. If you aren't being paid for the hours you work, contact your state dept of labor. And if your state requires breaks and you aren't getting them, tell them about that too.
