Staff transfer within the NHS?

Can anyone help? I work in the NHS and I have recently transferred to another department (at my own request)...however, I have realised that I have made the wrong move and wish to transfer back to my old job in my old department. I have been advised by a colleague that I can do this as in the NHS there is a policy whereby you can transfer back to your old job if you don't like the department which you have transferred to. Can anyone else advise me if this is correct please and also if anyone knows the time frame that this can take place in?

Michelle	A friend of mine did a similar thing. As far as she is aware, there is time restriction on transferring back to your old department. I am sure your old department will be very pleased to see you again.
