Would I have to disclose a specific past job on an employment application, if...?

by disclosing that job I would be forced to disclose my past mental health history? Other factors: 1) I would not need any accommodations under ADA. 2) The mental health condition and job was 16 years ago. 3) The mental health condition is not reoccurring in nature. 4) The current job does not have any psychological fitness requirements.

I don't see how a past job on your employment history would disclose anything about your mental health history. The amount of detail you give about your past employment is up to you and I can think of a lot of ways that you could mention an employer without divulging mental health information. Unless the name of the workplace was "Bipolar Rehabilitation Centers - All Our Employees are Bipolar" then you can find some way to list it.

No. Just list the jobs where you will get a good reference. Everybody lies on their resumes, I found out. If you had a physical ailment 16 years ago, would you list it on your resume? Explain any gaps in employment by being unemployed, or taking time off to take some courses in---- & ----, or take care of your children, or sick mother, or you traveled around the world, or you were married and didn't have to work, etc. Stress your knowledge and strengths, and leave out all the other stuff.

what does the application0ns ask for? many ask for the last 3 or any within the last 10 years..... if the application ask for "every" job or all from the past 20 years, then you must list it. an application is NOT a resume', an application is a legal document.......... and most clearly state that you may be terminated with cause for failing to complete that application fully and honestly......... your medical conditions/information can NOT be used to make an employment decision so that is NOT an issue...... and disclosing past employment does NOT mean you must disclose a past medical issue/problem......

Don't lie. You don't have to disclose every little job and you certainly don't have to bring up any mental health history. But if they ask questions, answer them honestly. Example: Them - "Who have you worked for?" You - "Toyota, Exxon, McDonalds." Them - "Have you ever worked for Wal-Mart?" You - "Yes, only briefly, 16 years ago." Them - "Tell us about yourself." You - "I'm awesome in every way." Them - "Do you have a history of mental illness?" You - "Yes, 16 years ago, I've been healthy since." Good luck!
