Depends on where you are. In most locales if your legal guardian signs off you can marry at 16.
Sounds like a real bad idea though. I can't believe your mother is ok with it. |

Yes you can. With parental consent... Its 110% okay. Congrats on the engagement. I'm recently engaged too. I'm 17 my girl is 21. Its all legal... i looked into it. =] |

you're a bit young, and it probably is illegal, so no one will let you get married. check the laws in your area, and you'll find out forsure. |

Depends on where you are. But remember, marriage is a sacred bond between 2 people. Are you sure he's the right man? Are you ready for that kind of commitment? It is all up to you. |

MUST have parental consent and it also depends on what state you are in. In some states u must be pregnant OH GOD your not pregnant are you??? Let me ask you why you would want to get married. Nevermind your 16 you wont listen to reason anyway |
|

If your mom signs the papers for consent and she's fine with it,no he will not be arrested. Remember, at that age you must have that consent or it will be considered breaking the law. |

are you a lil too young ?
why dont you wait till his 21 and then your really sure he wouldnt get arrested. usually 18 is the legal age.
anyway, waiting gives you a lil more time to pon over this way too young marriage. (: |

As long as your mother signs the papers, then yes, you can get married.
Although, I don't recommend it, considering you're only sixteen, and you're feelings for him could change as you get older. |

I know it's not what you asked for but I REALLY strongly suggest and recommend that you DON'T get married. Stay together for a few more years. And then get married. That's what I think. But why should you listen to me...

Why on earth would you want to get married at 16? Are you pregnant? You're asking for trouble getting married this young. By the the time you're 18 your feelings for him could have changed enormously. I know you've been together 2 years already, but you're still too young to know what you really want. I wouldn't advise it. |

You probably CAN...but should you?
You're very young, with your whole life in front of you.
What looks GREAT at sixteen looks like utter crap at twenty-six, and "What was I THINKING???" at thirty-six.
You can do what you want....but give that decision a bit of thought. Sure, you can always divorce if it doesn't work out, but divorce leaves scars, especially if you have children. |

It depends on where you live. In some countries the age of consent is 16 in others it is 18.
I would just say though that getting married at 16 is a terrible decision. Marriage is for mature people and with all due respect at 16 you are in no way shape or form mature. Grow up and live first and then settle down, you have all the time in the world for all of that! Xx |
|

♥ ☺ Sorry... I'm a girl! ☺ ♥
 |
It 100% depends on your LOCAL LAWS.
It would work in Nevada but not in Arizona...
It would work in Arkansas but not Georgia...
The biggest thing to remember is that if you go out of state to get married, make sure you two go SEPARATELY and MEET THERE.
Taking a minor out of state without parental consent is a felony but it is not illegal for him to Meet You There.
Honey... Look at the statistics on people in your situation... Watch the LifeTime Series "The Secret Lives of Women" episode called "Child Brides" and see what life will hold for you once you get married this young.
DO NOT DO IT.
Please...
Do NOT fu(k up your life and get married at 16. I dont' care how much you think you love him... You will wake up at 20 and FINALLY realize how much time you wasted and start to mourn for your lost childhood. |

If you live in VA (usa) then you can get married to him but your parent has to sign you off to him or whatever and get a marrage license or whatever... so i mean go for it
but only if you REALLY love him
and if you get pregersss then you dont need to sign anything you can just get married
its all good ...good luck girl |

I think you can get married at this age with your parent's consent. But to make sure, you or your boyfriend should call the people who issue marriage licences and ask them about it.
If you get legally married and you get the official papers. Then you will do everything according to the law. And you won't have any reason to fear the law. |
