What generation in age are we talking about??
Are your friends afraid of commitment once they realize it?
When Jesus blessed me with the right man in my life, I got married at age 29. I know I am blessed!! My wedding was absolutely beautiful!!
Do your friends love Jesus more or their boyfriends?? |

I think they have learned from our mistakes most of them marry around 30 to be sure they are making an adult decision |

I definitely don't think this is a good thing. If people don't see a point in marriage than they do what ever they want to do and end up having a baby out of wed lock. Yesterday I found out that a 16 year old girl I know is pregnant and I thought about how much harder her life is going to be now, I also thought of the baby she's going to have and how hard it's life will be without a dad. Hopefully these teenagers you are speaking of will get out of this mind set soon so they don't end up with a baby and no husband in a few years.
Marriage is of course a huge commitment that should be well thought through but at the same I believe it's much better to take that risk (which isn't a risk if you truly love this person and know it's who you want to be with for the rest of your life) than the risk you take by not getting married first.
Marriage can be the most amazing thing if you save yourself for that one person and trust me no one who saves them self for their future spouse will EVER regret it. |

Yes, a society lacking in morals and integrity leaves very much to be desired. It seems more often than not....nothing stands for anything. Hopefully the next generation will be wiser. |

I personally don't think teens should be thinking about marriage. I think they should be thinking about school, their own personal stability, and learning to navigate their way in the world on their own 2 feet.
Marriage will never go away, but I think it's wonderful that people are less and less feeling the NEED to marry, and are choosing only to do so because the WANT to. It seems to me that people who marry because they feel they have to aren't as happy as those who know their lives are full of choices that are strictly theirs to make. |

its crazy, the world is definitely headed in a different direction than what we were brought up in. you got married, had kids, and the father worked; mainly! but nowadays, half these people with kids, dont even know who the father is! its sad, but to be honest, i would have kids before getting married but im going to be pretty damn sure thats who im marrying! |

I have noticed a decline in marriage. I think people are being more careful because divorce is so common today. Marriage is a serious commitment and I do think people should evaluate themselves before commiting to someone else. I think it is more a generation change that is good but not to totally disregard marriage because if both people are ready to marry it can work. |

y would you not want to get married, haven't you ever heard of fate. if they don't want to get married then that probably mean they are sleeping together and which is riskful in getting AIDS or an STD then you can spread it. I think its dangerous. |

People and Relationships adapt, but I guess Marriage will make a welcome return sooner rather than later.
Not sure if it's Dangerous-Just different thinking. |

It not this generation. It's every young generation. And it never changes nor should it. Marriage is where to start a family. Everything else is for play. |

I think people are just waiting until they are older to get married. With the shocking divorce rates we see all of the time, people don't want to make the commitment when they are young.
I think marriage is awesome, but it should happen only when people are ready. If you are ready at 18, great. If you are ready at 42, great.
Personally, I got married at 23 and am very happy. I just happened to find the perfect match for me. |

I think it is good that they, at this point in their lives, aren't thinking of marriage. They need to go after their goals in life and I know when they do meet the right person, many will change their views.
Too many marriages have been done in haste; think the younger generation may realize that marriage is a choice and a committment; not something that you must do. |

I think it is the new mind set. and those that are getting married are usaully getting divorced in 6 months or a year. Some of my frineds can't bealive that my husband and I have been married for 8 years now. they say "wow, that is a long time" I am like "NO ITS NOT" |

I like to think of the ol phrase...
THIS IS SPARTA! 300 mg omnicef (cefdinir) a cephalosporin LOL! It is like the guys had a pronebicid because it made the 300 look like a lot more than 300 lOL!
In a serious tone... This correlates to why white guys like asian girls. Asian girls value marriage. |

I think it is definitely a very real trend that has been happening for a while now. So many teenagers look up to stars and more and more these days, stars are choosing to not get married. Marriage tends to get a bad rap. The divorce rate is high because people have absolutely no clue what it takes to have a successful, healthy, happy r'ship and so they divorce. Marriage itself is not to blame, yet that is what gets all the negative attention. |

In your teens you SHOULD be thinking about boyfriends and dating - marriage comes a LOT later in life, once you have learnt (from your teens) what you want and need in a relationship. |

This will have disaterous impact on the core family with in our society. The effects are well noted in the black community. |

I see both sides having been married and divorced. Having commiments outside marriage can now be as difficult to get out of if nor more difficult to divorce.
All it seems these days is a peice of paper - Who needs that to commit and share love. |
