How can I best cope with my newly wed husband being deployed?

My husband and I got married about 9 months ago, and now he is being deployed. I live away from all my family, and most my friends.Plus I have serious health issues, and will be having two major surgeries while he is gone.

it does take a wee while to get into the deployed services support groups really, but please persists , it is worth taking the time and trying to get along with the other partners and their families.
if for whatever reason you really can't, then there are plenty of support groups on line who meet up in real life. depends on what your own interests are. there's everything from needlework and motorbikes to horticulture and cooking. it's a case of getting onto google and finding them. you don't say what your serious health issues are but i do know people with Very Serious Health Issues who still manage to get out and about. Could you?

Go back home if possible. If possible bring some of your family to you. Find other wives of deployed service men. They are support groups everywhere. |

I hate women like you. You married this man KNOWING he was in the military. and you knew that one day he would deploy. so what in the hell are you complaining about!?!?!if you can't handle it, why did you marry a military man?!??? |

I suggest temporarily moving back home, or having a family member move in with you. That's what my wife and I did when I deployed.
However, if you're health risks are high enough, then he should not be deployed under the EFMP (Exceptional Family Member Program). |
