If he is not forthcoming with them (and to your satisfaction) it may be time to hire the detective to trail him. Expensive, yes, but out all night is a warning sign.

If this is the first time he has ever done this before, and you have no reason not to trust him, then believe him. If it becomes a habit, then beware. A marriage is built on trust, but that doesn't mean we have to be naive or stupid.
