Alli	I think they should be able to make it official through some sort of ceremony, so they can have joint rights or whatever, but actual marriage is for men and women, in my opinion.

blondie	I think they should be able to get married, but I don't think adoption should be allowed because imagine how it would effect the kid to have gay parents...they might be great parents, but the kid would probably get made fun of, as sad as that is.

ShyLover	well... marriage is not only a divine religious thing, today it has tax benefits and is rewarding economically. So religiously no I don't think they should be married, but legally I think they have the right to benefit. So I'm for it.

none	No, marriage is an outdated obsolete social custom. First the gays wanted into the military, and now marriage. Why is it they want into america's worst institutions? Im really starting to lose respect for them. (I think im the only one who actually read the whole question)

Ed34	I'm gay and engaged to be married. It's my legal right in the UK. It should be a legal right for all gay people everywhere. That probably won't happen in my lifetime. Gay people are still persecuted and executed all over the world. If that sort of punishment was directed at an ethnic group there would be uproar. Because it's gay people hardly anyone bats an eyelid.

Puhleeze!!!	Absolutely. Nobody should be denied that right regardless of gender. I have friends that have been waiting 20+ years and it's still an issue. Too bad for them, at least they have a good sense of humor about it. I doubt that any straight person would accept being stripped of their rights. They'd be knocking down doors & pounding fists to get whatever the F they want whenever the F they want it. Lots of gay couples have just got used to having to ride in the back of the bus. Very sad & very demeaning in general. I applaud anyone who has the guts to rally & protest for what's fair. Blacks couldn't marry whites before. Did we evolve because people just one day randomly accepted that? No. I hope they keep up the fight.

daddeo01905	Gay people should marry, but not in the church. Gay people should have a civil union. Marriage is between a biological man, and a biological women. Marriage is a religious ceremony, and should not have the Government telling the Church who it can and can not marry.

Gay marriage doesn't satisfy life's purpose It is amazing to me the extent that people will go to in order to achieve their personal goals. Take, for example, Prop. 8 that was on the ballot . This is the second time the California voters have passed this law, and yet those who fought against Prop. 8 continue to fight against the will of the people. They keep saying this is a religious issue. That is not true. Everyone needs to answer the question of â€œWhat is the purpose of life?â€ Leaving religion out of the answer, as well as the Bible and personal opinions, there is only one answer that can be given that will satisfy the laws of NATURE. That answer is: â€œReproduce yourself and your species.â€ Can two female or two male marriage partners conform to this law? No! So, this is not a religious issue alone. It is an issue that defies the laws of nature. The animal, bird, fish, insect, and plant kingdoms all live this law. They reproduce themselves as per nature's laws. If any of these kingdoms failed to live this law, their kingdom would become extinct in a short period of time. If the plant kingdom failed to live this law, there would be no food for man or animals to eat. We would soon become a dead planet. Only man wants to defy this law of nature. In so doing, they become destroyers of, rather than contributors to, the human race. Society is based on the family of husband wife and children. This is how the next generation rises. I can just see states or countries legalizing gay marriage and then losing population.
